Happy 68th To First Baptist Of Parintins
The ministry that has evolved into AmazonVida started as a small church back in early 50's in the Amazon village of Parintins, Brazil, by Pr Eduardo Lessa.
He suffer a strong persecution for his faith and the preaching of the gospel. But, through it all he remained resilient in faith and in 1951 Eduardo along with 8 other believers founded the first church.
First Baptist Church of Parintins celebrated their 68th year last Sunday with a special service. It is also the 20th anniversary of Pastor Elmer's and his wife Elisangela Lessa ministry at the church and this year on September 7th his father would be 100 years old.
It was a special day to celebrate the various church ministries, developing projects, small groups and congregations across the city, and our work in over 150 indigenous communities through 40 churches.
Their DNA has truly become:
Uma igreja (A church)
Da cidade (Of the city)
Na cidade e (In the city)
Além da cidade (Beyond the city)
