What is Amazon Vida?
Amazon Vida is a Christian nonprofit ministry dedicated to bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to the remote communities of the Amazon. For more than 75 years, we have shared the Gospel, planted churches, trained indigenous leaders, and partnered with local communities to create lasting spiritual and practical impact.
Rather than simply visiting villages, we invest in the people who already live there. By equipping indigenous pastors and leaders with biblical training and ongoing support, we help establish strong, self-sustaining churches that can continue reaching future generations with the Gospel.
Our mission is simple: to transform communities in the Amazon by making disciples, developing leaders, and demonstrating Christ's love through holistic ministry.
Where does Amazon Vida serve?
Amazon Vida serves communities throughout the Brazilian Amazon, reaching remote villages along the Amazon River and its tributaries. Our ministry extends from east of Parintins to the far western Amazon, where the borders of Brazil, Colombia, and Peru meet.
Many of these communities are accessible only by boat, making long-term relationships and indigenous leadership essential to our mission. Through local churches, trained indigenous leaders, and dedicated missionaries, we continue to bring the hope of Christ to some of the most isolated regions in the world.

How do you reach remote communities?
Reaching communities in the Amazon is both challenging and rewarding. Most villages are accessible only by boat, and some require several days of travel along the Amazon River and its tributaries before we arrive.
Because the journey is so significant, we don't simply make quick visits—we stay. We spend time building relationships, encouraging local churches, discipling believers, and equipping indigenous leaders. This long-term, relational approach allows us to share the Gospel in a meaningful way and establish ministries that continue long after our boats have departed.
