Encouraging Leaders

Living in the Amazon is tough, and being a pastor is hard no matter where you are, together, these challenges require a strong commitment to the ministry. That’s why we have leadership meetings with influential leaders and church pastors from riverside communities.

“I have never known missionary work to be easy!”

This emphatic statement was made by Pastor Abimael Sicsú, a deeply devoted leader who has dedicated many years of his life to tirelessly working along the winding rivers of the lower Amazon.

He shared his experience as a jungle pastor along with words of encouragement during a meeting that took place to provide an opportunity for listening attentively, engaging in heartfelt prayer, and offering mutual encouragement among those present.

This gathering was crucial to ensure that the dedicated workers would continue to persevere in their tireless efforts, even when faced with a multitude of challenges that are often daunting and seemingly insurmountable.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And let perseverance have its perfect result, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

Join us in prayer:

  • Pray for the ongoing strengthening of the churches, so they may deepen both their knowledge and understanding of the Word of God;

  • Pray for the populations that are currently suffering from yet another severe drought that is sadly affecting their lives and livelihoods at this challenging time.
