More Than Numbers, Lives Transformed

The rivers of the Amazon carry more than boats and supplies—they carry the hope of the Gospel. As AmazonVida celebrates 75 Years Bold, our 2026 first-quarter report reminds us that behind every number is a story of faith, transformation, and lives forever changed.

From January through March 2026, 25 people gave their lives to Christ. These are more than statistics. They represent conversations that opened hearts, prayers that were answered, and men, women, and young people who chose to follow Jesus. In communities scattered along the rivers of the Amazon, the Gospel continues to bring new life and lasting hope.

During the same period, 17 new believers were baptized. Baptism is a public declaration of faith, and in the Amazon it carries profound significance. Whether in the Andirá, the Uaicurapá, or the Mamurú River, these celebrations take place before families, neighbors, and local churches, bearing witness to lives transformed by the power of Christ.

For 75 years, AmazonVida has measured success by more than numbers. Every river journey, every church strengthened, every leader equipped, and every act of compassion is part of God's greater story of redemption. Behind every report is a person whose life has been changed and a community being transformed through the hope of the Gospel.

Reaching these communities requires long journeys by river, where fuel is one of our greatest ongoing expense. Today, monthly fuel costs average nearly $5,000, and recent price increases have made every trip more costly. Yet every mile traveled represents another opportunity to share Christ's love with communities that might otherwise remain unreached.

Like the early church, the Gospel often advances in the face of challenges. Yet even in difficult circumstances, God continues to work. Families who embrace Christ become a testimony to their neighbors, churches are strengthened, and communities begin to experience lasting transformation. The current of hope continues to flow, carrying the message of Jesus farther into the Amazon.

For 75 years, this has been the heartbeat of AmazonVida. We celebrate more than reports and statistics—we celebrate lives transformed by Jesus Christ. As long as there are communities waiting to hear the Gospel, we will continue to go with bold faith, trusting God to lead us forward.
