Meet A Missionary: Adelson
Good morning, My name is Adelson, I work here in this place on the Mamuru River, I'm married to Lucilene and I have seven children and I'm happy about that.
About ten years ago, God completely transformed my life, and today I feel happy for this person that I have become, seeking God in truth.
I want to thank the pastors, Pastor Moacir, Pastor Elmer, PastorAbimael, who opened the doors of the Leadership Training Center for me. And for me it was a wonderful thing, my life was completely transformed by it.
My mission field is here in the riverside village area. This village is Shalom, the Shalom congregation, on the Mamuru River. We are part of the First Baptist Church in Parintins. So, it is a pleasure for me to be here today, speaking of God's love, working for the gospel.
Our work here is on Wednesday, we go out to the houses, working, praying with the families in their homes. We also have service here on Saturday night and Sunday morning at seven thirty.
There is the Bible study and I feel happy too. Also, when we have camps and worship gatherings and we have a moment to meet with the all the other churches and with all the missions in the riverside communities.
So, for me it is a great happiness to have this true joy, this is a true joy that I feel. There are many people who have big parties, and they go and are happy at that time, when the next morning comes, everyone is sad, sometimes with a lot of problems.
But we, as Christians, our joy is forever, because it is a joy when we are with our brothers. We are there in a group of people and we, as happy as we are, we arrive happy and we leave happy, knowing that we are serving the true God, the God who teaches us in a way that we know that the place He has prepared for us.
I believe that this place is already prepared. So, for me, it's really important to have these events, where we all feel together. I am part of the Baptist Mission, here in Rio Mamuru, a wonderful work that my brothers brought to us. So, for that, I just want to thank God for the opportunity that He has given me.
