Pastor Timel Mikilis. He is Sateré-Mawé and ministered to Christian Life and Leadership discipline for our Sateré students (around 35). This class was a milestone for our seminary, as Sateré students were able to receive the teaching with material in their own language and also with a teacher speaking in the Sateré language.
It was incredible to see the students' faces as they received the teaching with so much more clarity and understanding. They are so thankful for the efforts of dedicated volunteers that translated the class material to Sateré.
In the last semester of the year the “Biblical Study Methods” class was taught by Pastor Moacy Paulo to the Portuguese riverside residents, and Timel Mikilis was doing the Sateré class.
There was a rich moment of communion, sharing of experiences and community worship with a group of North American brothers who came to learn about and collaborate with the missionary work developed by Amazon Vida in the region.
The celebrations were unique, with praises sung in three languages: Sateré, Portuguese and English - a small sample of what it will be like to worship when our Lord Jesus returns to make everything new.
